Nike - Cricket in India
What to say about this ad? A bit into history
Who did it: JWT servicing and planning team in Bangalore led by Dhunji Wadia and Rajesh Gangwani got the 'Gutsy Cricket' concept approved by Nike headquarters in Portland, Oregon, USA.
Where it was shot: On a set in Karjat, near Mumbai. Very close to where the reality show Big Boss was shot.
This ad though tries to imitate and highlight the street cricket in India, does not seem to make any sense to the company. What makes me say this? In India when the common people go out and watch the ad, they try to see something substantial in it. What they want is the main product here and the crust line associated with it. In this case , even though it can be assumed, that Nike tried to represent their new cricket gear to the customers, somehow it was not at all visible, in it.
What if we try to compare it with the "Paragon" ad of India .
Another part of it , a very well shot ad, with a tinge of 'Internationalism' attached in it. Though may look local , this ad is a perfect example of Cricket in Asia.
